Hassan Whiteside

Whiteside now has over 50 double-doubles in the season. On Sunday night, he logged his 15th double-double game in a row. He accumulated 19 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists with 13 stitches in his hand and coming off a minor sprained ankle he acquired in Thursday’s game against the Raptors. The 27-year-old was able to play on both sides of the ball with a fierceness that helped the HEAT keep up with the Celtics. With 11.5 seconds left in the game, he landed two free throws to get the HEAT two points closer to the Celtics at 110-108.

In his post game interview, “I try to give it everything I can, and do everything I can possibly do to help the team.”

The Brothers Johnson

Tyler Johnson and James Johnson completed the game with a combined 44 points. In the first half, T. Johnson led the HEAT with 12 points, while J. Johnson kicked it up a notch on the defense. To help the HEAT along, he finished the game with 20 points, six assists and five rebounds, while T. Johnson had a team high of 24 points, four rebounds and two assists for the night.

Other Game Takeaways

  • Willie Reed proved to be a great help to the HEAT in this game. Helping to give Whiteside time to rest, Reed was able to accumulated seven points and six rebounds in his 17 minutes of play in Boston.
